DESAULNIERS PUMPING STATION - HYDRO-QUEBEC

The Desaulniers pumping station was commissioned in June 1977. It contains four pumps, each one having a capacity of 1.7 m3/s and a discharge head of 54.3 m. The pumps are driven by 1,120 kW motors. During its first months of operation, the pumping station was used to drain the river, which facilitated the construction of the D-20 dyke.
